Looking for a general-purpose capacitor for storing energy and creating electrostatic fields? Choose this electrolytic capacitor from the RS PRO range. It's an axial-type capacitor, meaning the leads come out of either end of its cap.

It has a safety vent that releases gas, so it will prevent an explosion in the event of excessive voltage. It's also easy to mount by running its leads through holes in your printed circuit board (PCB). This through-hole construction also ensures the capacitor is securely mounted, so it will hold up under environmental stress.

As it complies with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directives, it's manufactured with minimal amounts of harmful materials. This type of capacitor is commonly used to decouple and prevent fluctuations in voltage in filtering devices, as well as to store power in flash lamps.
