Adafruit UNTZtrument! Open-Source 8 x 8 LED Button Grid Controller Kit

This kit has everything you need to create an 8 x 8 LED button grid. It is based on the Adafruit Trellis board and supplied with translucent button pads, controller pads, diffused white LEDS and a custom laser cut enclosure.

Designed for ease of use and flexibility, all you need is an Arduino Leonardo, basic soldering tools and some time. Once assembled and programmed with the Arduino IDE, this box turns into a USB MIDI device that works with any computer.

The default example program sends a MIDI Note On and Off message for each button press. With a little programming, you can send and receive any MIDI command. It is USB MIDI so compatible almost all synthesiser software.

It is Arduino powered so adding other gadgets like accelerometers, potentiometers or rotary encoders is straight-forward and uses existing libraries available on the Internet.
