3M™ Lead Foil Tape 420 Silver 12 mm x 33 m
The 3M 420 is a thermally conductive and electrically smooth Lead foil tape featuring an rubber adhesive and an easy to apply 4 mm soft lead backing. Used for electroplating or as a radiation barrier, but due to its makeup it can be used for weighting and balancing objects. The lead foil tape can be burnished fully covering the adhesive allowing full contact to the metal base. This metal to metal contact results in an overall electrical continuation path.
The soft lead of the 3M 420 Foil Tape is very conformable resulting it being adhered to uneven surfaces. Highly conductive and strong acid resistance makes it ideal for electroplating and as a radiation barrier. Being highly conformable and pliable the tape can be formed into detailed and intricate shapes or patterns.
Features and Benefits
Conformable tape resists flame, moisture, weather, UV degradation, and many chemicals used in electroplating and anodizing processes
The rubber-based adhesive bonds well a variety of surface, including most metals
Performs over a wide variety of temperatures
Liner allows tape to be die-cut into specific shapes for assembly and manufacturing processes
Benefits of choosing 3M Aluminium Foil Tape
Hot and cold temperature versatility. 3M foil tape works in temperatures to which other tapes can diminish. Performing in cold conditions allows this 3M tape to be a market leader, as other tapes see the adhesive harden and begin to lose sticking strength. On the contrary, extreme heat can melt adhesives of tapes, but not the 3M foil tape making it versatile for most applications.
A Rubber Adhesive backing. This 3M lead foil tape is coated in a rubber adhesive, with an easy release film liner. The rubber adhesive secures to a variety of difficult subjects whilst maintaining a strong and reliable bond.
Longevity of foil tape. This tape is ideally used for electroplating or as a radiation barrier in applications where it needs to be conductive both thermally and electrically. Rubber adhesive provides a strong, resistant from flames, UV light, chemicals and radiation.
