RS PRO Rechargeable Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery, 12.8V 12Ah

Introducing the RS PRO LiFePO4 (Lithium Iron Phosphate) Rechargeable Battery, ideal for use on electric vehicles, as a backup power source and more. The LiFePO4 technology in these RS PRO batteries operate at a lower resistance than standard lead acid counterparts and subsequently offer a much faster recharge rate, while also being able to withstand a wide range of temperature changes. By offering reliability with outstanding performance, this lightweight battery is versatile and suitable for use on a wide range of applications, making this cost-effective and high-quality RS PRO battery the first choice for your rechargeable battery requirements.

Features and Benefits:

  • This RS PRO rechargeable battery features the most up to date Lithium Iron Phosphate technology, ensuring optimum reliability, performance and safety

  • LiFePO4 is approximately 70% lighter than standard lead acid batteries, making this battery weigh approximately 1.70 kg

  • The battery does not contain any acid which eliminates the risk of leakage and therefore the risk of explosion and combustion

  • The battery unit is equipped with protection against short circuit currents (BMS) that additionally protects against short circuits, overloads and deep discharge

  • In addition to this, BMS also balances the cells in order to guarantee longer battery life

  • Battery life expectancy is up to 5 times longer than standard lead acid batteries, while also offering a very low self-discharge rate

  • Wide operating temperature range of 20°C to 60°C

Lithium iron phosphate rechargeable batteries is a derivative battery of the Lithium-ion family, made up of a differing chemistry. The main benefit of using this type of battery compared to conventional lead acid ones is the fact that it offers twice the battery capacity in the same amount of space. LiFePO4 batteries also function at a much lower resistance, which in turn offers much faster recharge times, making them ideal for use in electric scooters and other energy solutions like a solar power storage system. They are also frequently used for backup power supplies as they offer a life span of up to 10 times longer than standard lead acid batteries. Lithium iron phosphate batteries are often used for:

  • Electric vehicles and electric mobility

  • Solar power or wind energy storage systems

  • Universal power supplies and backup power supplies

  • Telecommunication

  • Medical equipment

  • Lighting

How do I store batteries?

It is advised to keep batteries away from with metallic objects like paperclips, coins, other batteries or household items such as steel wool, aluminium foil and keys as it could cause a potential fire hazard if they touch. Batteries should be kept in their original packaging until ready for use.

How should LiFePO4 batteries be disposed of?

Any batteries should be disposed of in accordance with the recommended battery recycling and disposal schemes available

  • This battery is not made for a specific charger; it is made to be fitted to the system to give battery backup such as CCTV and cameras charges while the system is on. If there is sudden power disruption, then this works as backup from previously charged

  • Always install the batteries correctly as per instruction

  • Ensure that the contact points are clean and conductive

  • Do not mix different types of battery

  • Do not dispose of in a fire

Safety Advice:

  • Keep out of sight and reach of children
