Fluke Digital Thermometer, ±0.05°C Accuracy, 300h Battery Life - 1552A-12-DL

This digital thermometer provides a portable, battery‑powered reference for precise temperature measurement in industrial settings where explosive atmospheres may be present. It combines a fixed probe and readout in one handheld unit, designed for use across processing floors and outdoor sites to verify and calibrate process sensors.

Features & Benefits

• Accuracy of ±0.05°C ensuring repeatable measurements
• Intrinsically safe construction compliant with ATEX/IECEx
• Measures up to 300°C for high‑temperature process checks
• Internal logging option stores up to 10,000 time‑stamped readings
• Three AAA batteries deliver approximately 300 h operation
• Selectable resolution down to 0.001 for fine measurement detail

**Applications**

• Suitable for calibrating process sensors in chemical plants
• Ideal for temperature checks during custody transfer procedures
• Used for verification of food‑processing sensor accuracy
• Can be used for maintenance of heating systems in facilities
• Suitable for on‑site instrument checks in hazardous zones

What sensor type does it use and how does that affect stability?

It uses a PRT thin‑film element with low hysteresis, which reduces drift and maintains measurement repeatability over time.

How is data retrieved and what are the logging interval options?

Logged readings are stored internally and can be recorded at intervals from 2s up to 60min, with RS‑232 access to calibration parameters if required.

What operating ambient temperatures will not degrade the readout accuracy?

The readout remains within specification when operated in ambient conditions from −10°C to 50°C.

How does the display assist Rapid field measurements?

The LCD rotates 90° for viewing at different angles and includes a user‑settable trend/stability indicator to confirm when a source has stabilised.

Note

Model number appended with a -9, -12, -20 indicates probe sheath length in inches. All probe diameters are 6.35 mm with the exception of the 1551A-9, which is 4.8 mm diameter

Supplied with

3 x AAA batteries and instruction manual on CD ROM
