Fluke Voltage Tester, 1000V Maximum Voltage, CAT IV Safety Category Level - T6-1000

This voltage tester is a clamp-free, non-contact instrument designed for electricians and engineers to measure AC and DC voltage and AC current in live installations without inserting test leads. It operates across low- to high-voltage supplies and is intended for field troubleshooting where rapid, safer measurements on insulated conductors and large cables are needed.

Features & Benefits

• FieldSense AC voltage measurement enables non-contact readings up to 1000V for safer checks
• Simultaneous voltage and current display shows power measurements at a glance for Faster diagnostics
• Measures 0.1–200 A AC on conductors up to AWG 4/0 (120 mm²) for large-cable work
• Frequency measurement 45 Hz–66 Hz for mains verification during power audits
• Resistance range to 100 kΩ for component and circuit continuity assessment
• LCD backlight and HOLD function aid visibility in dim or cramped environments

Applications

• Suitable for commissioning and fault finding on industrial distribution panels
• Ideal for verifying supply parameters on generator and UPS systems
• Used for inspecting large feeder cables and busbar installations
• Can be used for routine maintenance in automation and mechanical plant rooms

What power source and runtime can I expect during prolonged use?

It runs on two AA batteries and typically delivers about 360 h continuous operation, dropping to around 200 h when using non-contact FieldSense measurements.

What environmental range supports on-site operation?

The unit functions between -10 °C and +50 °C and is rated for use at altitudes up to 2000m with storage limits extending to -30 °C/+60 °C.

How is user safety categorised for frontline electrical work?

It meets CAT III 600V and CAT IV 1000V measurement-category requirements for typical distribution and service-drop environments.

Are there accessories to aid handheld operation and connection?

It includes attached test leads with removable 4mm probe caps and accepts an optional magnetic hanger and holster for hands-free positioning.

Note

Do not hold or touch wire you are testing during a measurement. Use the black probe to make the ground connection if:
• wearing gloves or insulated footwear
• standing on an insulated ladder
• additional ground contact is required for the application
