The Education team at RS is a dedicated team, focused on empowering youth in the engineering and technology space. They support and develop engineering students and young people across the globe, helping them bridge that education and experience gap, between university and the workplace. In short, they help young people get 'work ready.'
The technical skills and knowledge that engineering students gain at university is invaluable, but equally important are SuperSkills. They make you stand out from the crowd and give you confidence in both the interview process and workplace, in terms of understanding what employees are looking for and what behaviours you should express. These skills complement your technical ability to make up a ‘well rounded’ engineer.
These skills are often referred to as soft skills but we call them Super Skills as they are essential to your success in the workplace.
Employers often cite the fact that they are more inclined to hire graduates who have some of these skills in place before joining the company. They will look for evidence that you demonstrate these skills in interviews and assessment centres as different employees look for different skills. We will provide training in all these skills for free.
There are also opportunities for students to become ‘Ambassadors’. We can train individuals to deliver training on relevant topics within your own communities or student networks. A real learning and development opportunity for students, whilst enhancing your CV at the same time!
