RS PRO PEL-3031E Programmable Single Output DC Electronic Load
RS PRO PEL-3031E is a programmable single-channel electronic load providing 300 W (1 V to 150 V / 60 A) current sink capabilities. It has seven operating modes, selected on the basis of product test requirements. Different test conditions are met by the Static function (to sink a constant current), the Dynamic function (to periodically switch between two sink conditions) and the Sequence function (to provide tests for more than two sink conditions).
The Sequence function can be divided into Normal Sequence and Fast Sequence. Setting parameters for multiple steps can simulate consecutive current changes of real load conditions. A special feature of the RS PRO PEL-3031E is its Soft Start function which enables determination of the rise time of current sink, to decide the required time to reach a set current, resistance or power value. Test adaptability is enhanced by the Timer function (Count Time and Cut Off Time).

Typical Applications
Electronic loads are a type of electronic power testing instrument used in a wide range of applications where the test and measurement of a power supply is required. These programmable devices are essential in ensuring various power supplies meet the required safety and compliance standards. Electronic loads offer various modes of control such as constant voltage, constant current, constant power, and constant resistance making them highly versatile and powerful instruments. They are commonly used in areas such as:
- Electronic components
- Batteries
- Chargers/portable chargers
- Adapters
- Power supply equipment
- Power products
- Laboratories
- Solar panel manufacturers
FAQs
What is the Voltage Measurement range?
0-150V
What is the Current Measurement range?
0-6A / 0-60A
What is the Power Measurement range?
300W
Why use an electronic load rather than a fixed value power resistor?
A fixed value power resistor is suitable for applications that require no closed loop control, however, they can present many limitations when testing power sources. Electronic loads have the ability to emulate various scenarios and actual devices that connect to your power source, whilst providing higher flexibility by allowing you to sink various levels of power and arbitrary profiles. Electronic loads reduce test time and cost by easily adapting to continuous changes in device test requirements, making them a highly effective solution to test power devices.
