SICK C2MT Series Light Curtain, 780mm Protective Height, 8m Maximum Scanning Distance - C2MT-07824BBC03FB0

This light curtain receiver provides protective presence sensing for industrial access and safeguarding tasks. Designed for standalone operation with optical synchronisation and twin-stick delivery, it operates from a 24V DC supply and is suited to environments requiring compact, non-intrusive safety sensing. The device includes system plugs and mounting brackets for Rapid installation and is specified for continuous monitoring roles where a defined protective field height and response performance are required.

Features and Benefits:

• 13ms response time for Rapid hazard detection
• 24mm beam resolution for precise object recognition
• 24V DC supply operation for standard industrial power rails
• Optical synchronisation without separate cabling for simplified set-up
• PNP short-circuit protected outputs for safe switching

Applications

• Suitable for safeguarding machine access openings on production lines
• Ideal for integration with safety relay controls and EDM systems
• Used with automated cells requiring Compact presence detection
• Can be used for perimeter protection where 780mm coverage is required

What connection method does the device use?

It uses a hard-wired system connection via a 5-pin M12 plug with a 700mm cable.

How does the unit behave if a fault occurs?

The safe state is entered by at least one OSSD switching to the OFF condition.

What environmental limits apply to operation?

It operates between -20°C and +55°C with IP65 enclosure protection.

How is the device synchronised in multi-stick setups?

Synchronisation is optical and does not require a separate synchronisation line.

Note

Two identical miniTwin-stick packages MUST always be ordered for a complete system.,Cable: Each miniTwin is supplied with an M12 5-pin 1-way system plug. To cascade 3 pairs you will need 2 x cascade cables. Either 701-2962 for miniTwin up to 540mm or 701-2971 for miniTwin over 600mm. These cascade cables have 2 x plugs and should be attached to the rear of your middle pair of miniTwin. The cascade extender cable 701-2974 can be used in conjunction with the 2 x cascade cables to increase the distance between miniTwin if required. Regardless of whether you use these devices stand-alone or in a 2 x pair or cascade format you will need to purchase 2 x M12 5-pin connector cable eg 523-0335.,Brackets: 2 x C-Fix and 2 x L-Fix brackets are supplied with each miniTwin. To mount (stand-alone only) as a flat installation on a profile frame or in a machine niche purchase optional O-Fix brackets 701-2978
