Lockout Tags
What is a Lockout Tag? A lockout tag can also be known as tag out tag. It is a highly visible safety tag used to help with the safe running and maintenance of site machinery. The tag is always used when the lockout is required.
The lockout tags can be written on with the details of the date the lockout has begun, details of the issue and who holds the key. These details are required as they are the only person that can remove the lockout tags and give permission for the lockout to be removed.
Types of lockout tags
- Do not operate
- Do not operate maintenance department
- Do not switch off
- Do not switch on
- Electrician working
- Equipment locked off
Lockout tags are used with lockouts and are kept in the areas that contain all the required lockout stations
