RS PRO Straight Cable Mount SMA Connector, Plug, RG58/U


This female SMA connector from the RS PRO range is a sub-miniature radio frequency (RF) coaxial connector. When paired with a female connector of the same type, this cable mount connector allows you to join coaxial cables together.

They're often used by homeowners, businesses and internet providers to convey data and are particularly useful in microwave systems, mobile phone antennas and Wi-Fi networks. This connector is especially suited for design and development work, made for use with RF coaxial cable type RG58/U. The coaxial design means the connector can transfer high-frequency electric signals with minimal signal loss.

This is a reverse polarity connector, so the centre pin has been swapped for a threaded receptacle. This design prevents users from attaching the wrong connectors which can also cause signal degradation. The connector's gold plating protects against vibration and helps to reduce electromagnetic interference.
