HellermanTyton HIS-3 Series Heat Shrink Tubing, 9.5mm Sleeve Diameter, 5m Sleeve Length - 308-30903 HIS-3-9/3-PO-X-CL

This heat-shrink tubing provides insulated protection for wires and components in demanding electrical and mechanical environments. It is a transparent, cross-linked polyolefin sleeve supplied on a 5 m reel, designed to recover around conductors and assemblies when heated to its activation temperature. The product delivers a balance of flexibility and thermal resistance suitable for routine wiring and harnessing tasks where Visual inspection of the underlying insulation is required.

Features & Benefits

• 3:1 shrink ratio delivers tight conformity to uneven shapes
• Recovers to 3 mm diameter for Compact insulation clearance
• Temperature range −55°C to +135°C supports varied operating conditions
• Longitudinal shrinkage controlled to ±5% maintains length predictability
• Dielectric strength 32 kV/mm ensures high electrical insulation
• Halogen-free material reduces corrosive emission risks during fires

**Applications**

• Suitable for terminating and insulating crimp joints in control panels
• Used for colourless protection of sensor and signal cabling
• Ideal for bundling and marking harnesses in automation systems
• Can be used for environmental sealing of connector housings
• Used for insulating repair work on flexible power leads

What heat is required to initiate recovery?

Shrinkage starts above +100°C and full recovery is achieved with typical heat-gun procedures up to the stated heat-shock parameters.

How does it behave under Rapid thermal exposure?

It withstands a 4 h heat-shock at 250°C without dripping or cracking and retains form under short-duration thermal stress.

What mechanical endurance does it offer after ageing?

After 168 h at 175°C it retains elongation at heat ageing of approximately 400% and a minimum tensile strength at heat ageing of 13 MPa.

Is the material suitable for high-voltage insulation testing?

The material exhibits dielectric strength around 32 kV/mm and meets the specified CSA electrical standards for insulating applications.
